A one-day spoon carving course with Strata Florida Trust in Ystrad Fflur.
What is spoon carving?
Spoon carving uses green, unseasoned wood and three tools: an axe to rough the shape, a straight knife to refine it, and a hook knife for the bowl. It needs almost no space and no machines, which is why it is the usual way into woodwork. Most people finish a spoon in a day and leave knowing enough to carry on at home.
Dates, prices and places are set by Strata Florida Trust, not by us, and can change at any time. Always confirm the details with them before you travel.

Questions people ask before booking
Do I need to bring my own tools?
Strata Florida Trust does not state on their page whether tools are provided for this course. Ask them before you book, because a hand woodworking course can assume you bring your own.
Is £75 a fair price for this?
Most one-day woodworking courses on this site cost between £80 and £230. At £75 this one sits below almost all of them, out of 73 we hold a price for. Price alone will not tell you which suits you: group size and what is included matter as much.
Who do I book with?
You book directly with Strata Florida Trust. Woodwork UK does not take bookings, does not add a fee, and is not paid for the link. They set the dates, the price and the number of places.
