What the course involves
A two-day wood carving course with Axe & Paddle Bushcraft in Llangadog.
What is wood carving?
Carving means cutting a shape into a block by hand, with gouges and a mallet. It is slower than turning and there is no machine doing any of the work. Beginners usually start with a relief carving, where the design is cut into a flat panel rather than in the round, because it teaches tool control without needing you to think about a shape from every angle at once.
Dates, prices and places are set by Axe & Paddle Bushcraft, not by us, and can change at any time. Always confirm the details with them before you travel.

Questions people ask before booking
Do I need to bring my own tools?
Axe & Paddle Bushcraft does not state on their page whether tools are provided for this course. Ask them before you book, because a hand carving course can assume you bring your own.
Is £250 a fair price for this?
Most weekend wood carving courses on this site cost between £140 and £260. At £250 this one sits towards the pricier end, out of 10 we hold a price for. Price alone will not tell you which suits you: group size and what is included matter as much.
Who do I book with?
You book directly with Axe & Paddle Bushcraft. Woodwork UK does not take bookings, does not add a fee, and is not paid for the link. They set the dates, the price and the number of places.
