Cookies

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your phone or computer. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner: there is nothing to accept or refuse.

How we count visits without cookies

Our own count. We count how often each page is viewed and how often someone clicks through to a provider, which kind of site visitors arrived from, and what is typed into our search box. It holds no IP address and no device details.

Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us totals such as visits by country. It uses no cookies.

Google Analytics runs with consent set to refused for everyone, all the time. In that mode it sets no cookie and cannot recognise you from one visit to the next. Our privacy notice lists what it does receive.

What we do not use

No advertising cookies, no ad networks, no session recording and no tracking across other sites.

If you visited before we removed the banner

An earlier version of this site asked permission for analytics cookies. If you accepted then, your browser may still hold cookies from Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and PostHog, the three tools we used at the time. We no longer use Clarity or PostHog at all, and Google Analytics no longer reads its cookie.

The site removes those leftovers for you the next time you visit a page. That is the only thing it ever does to your browser's storage: it deletes, and adds nothing.
