Makers and schools
Everyone who teaches woodwork on this site, from one-person workshops to full-time colleges. You book with the maker directly, and nobody pays to be listed.
Find a maker near you
The counties holding more than one maker. Each opens on every course we have there, not just the one workshop.
Or by what they teach
The busiest single workshop is Great British Woodshop with 25 courses, but most makers teach one thing well. Each craft opens on its courses, with the number beside it.
All 175 of them
Most courses first. Every one has a page of its own. Nobody can pay to move up.
Questions people ask about the makers
Who is listed on Woodwork UK?
Everyone we can find in the UK teaching hobby woodwork: 175 makers and schools between them running 527 courses. They range from one-person workshops to full-time furniture schools. 79 of them list a single course, which is normal for a maker who teaches around their own commissions.
Does a maker pay to be here?
No. Nobody pays to be listed and nobody can pay to rank higher. We take no booking, add no fee to the price, and are not paid for the links out. If you run courses and want to be added, or want your listing changed or removed, the page to use is Add a listing.
Where are they?
Across 56 counties, most of them in Greater London (23), Hampshire (8) and Cumbria (7). That follows where the workshops are rather than where the people are, which is why rural counties hold more than their share.
How do I book with one of them?
Directly. Every course page links straight to the maker's own booking page, and they set their own dates, prices and places. We hold 127 of the 175 makers' own websites; where a maker sells only through a booking platform, the link goes there because that is the only place the course can be booked.
