A one-day green woodworking course with Makers Barn in Petworth.

Tools, materials and refreshments are included in the price.

What is green woodworking?

Green woodworking works with freshly felled, unseasoned timber, which cuts far more easily than the dried stuff. It is hand tools, often outdoors, using a shave horse and a drawknife. Chairs, stools, spoons and rakes all come out of this tradition, and it predates sawmills and kiln drying entirely.
