What to expect
- Runs
- 9.30am to 5.30pm
A furniture making course with Ambrose Vevers in Ashburton. Ambrose Vevers say it suits beginners and people with some experience.
It runs in a timber framed barn.
What is furniture making?
Furniture making covers everything from a first small cabinet to full-time training. Expect hand tools and machines together, and real time spent on joints, because a piece of furniture is mostly the quality of how it is held together. Short courses build one defined object; longer ones teach the process so you can design your own.
Dates, prices and places are set by Ambrose Vevers, not by us, and can change at any time. Always confirm the details with them before you book.

Questions people ask before booking
Do I need to bring my own tools?
Ambrose Vevers does not state on their page whether tools are provided for this course. Ask them before you book, because a hand woodworking course can assume you bring your own.
Is it suitable for a complete beginner?
Yes. Ambrose Vevers bills this course as suiting people starting from scratch as well as those with some experience who want to develop further, so a mixed-ability group is expected.
Who do I book with?
You book directly with Ambrose Vevers. Woodwork UK does not take bookings, does not add a fee, and is not paid for the link. They set the dates, the price and the number of places.
